The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, released an important notification on 3rd September 2025 for all institutes participating in UG Counselling 2025.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has updated the seat matrix to include newly recognized colleges and increased MBBS seats in government and deemed medical institutions across India. Institutes that received approval for new seats after Round-1 of UG Counselling 2025 must update their revised seat count on the intra-MCC portal for Round-2 counselling.

The MCC warned that any excess seats reported, which do not match the NMC seat matrix, will be cancelled. Institutes will bear full responsibility for any legal or admission-related issues caused by such discrepancies.

Additionally, newly established government medical colleges must contribute 15% of their MBBS seats to the All India Quota (AIQ). Deemed universities must contribute 100% of their seats, following directions from the Hon’ble Supreme Court. These colleges should request their portal user ID and password by emailing their Letter of Permission (LoP) to adgme@nic.in.
