NEW DELHI, May 20, 2025 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), under the Ministry of Education, has directed all affiliated schools to ensure the special modules dissemination launched by the Hon’ble School Minister on 19th May 2025. Developed by NCERT, these modules are aligned with the Foundational, Preparatory, Middle, and Secondary stages of education, covering Grades 1 to 12.

Special Modules Dissemination: Strengthening Pride and Interactive Learning

The new modules highlight India’s national milestones and achievements, with themes such as India as the Fifth Economic Power, Bharat – Mother of Democracy, India’s Digital Success, COVID-19 Management, Asian Games Sporting Success, Swachhata, and Virasat aur Vikas. Through stories, illustrations, case studies, and activities, they aim to build pride in India’s heritage while promoting engaging, interactive learning.

Each module follows an age-appropriate pedagogical approach. Teachers are encouraged to guide students using experiential methods, fostering curiosity, active participation, and analysis. CBSE emphasized that this initiative reflects India’s broader vision of “education as empowerment” and “language as cultural identity.”

The modules stand out for their interactive design. They integrate graphics, photographs, reflective questions, and suggested classroom activities, linking real-life experiences with curricular knowledge. For example:

  • India as the Fifth Economic Power explains the nation’s economic rise.

  • Bharat – Mother of Democracy explores India’s democratic traditions.

  • India’s Digital Success shows how technology transformed governance and society.

  • COVID-19 Management highlights resilience and public health strategies.

  • Asian Games Sporting Success celebrates athletes and initiatives like Khelo India.

  • Swachhata promotes cleanliness and sustainable living.

  • Virasat aur Vikas showcases heritage, monuments, crafts, cuisine, and rivers.

These resources will serve as valuable tools for teachers and learners. By promoting activity-based pedagogy, the modules strengthen critical thinking and contextual understanding.

CBSE has instructed school heads to ensure wide special modules dissemination in classrooms. To increase accessibility, the modules will also be available through the National Digital Library, allowing students across India to benefit.
