A counseling-themed image with a focus on two people sitting face-to-face, their hands visible in the foreground. The person on the left has their hands clasped together, while the person on the right is gesturing with open hands, indicating an ongoing conversation or counseling session. Both individuals are dressed in neutral-toned clothing, and the background is softly blurred, keeping the emphasis on the interaction. At the top left corner is the "Career Plan B" logo. At the bottom of the image, a dark green banner displays the text: “NEET UG Counselling 2025: Round 2 Choice-Filling Process Begins at MCC.” The overall tone suggests a supportive and informative setting related to the medical counseling process.
NEET UG Counselling 2025: MCC Opens Round 2 Choice-Filling Process

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) officially opened the choice-filling process for Round 2 of NEET UG Counselling 2025. Thousands of MBBS and BDS aspirants across India now enter this crucial stage to secure admission under the All India Quota (AIQ), institutional quota, and other streams.

After concluding Round 1, MCC launched Round 2 to give candidates fresh opportunities—whether they remained unallotted earlier or want to upgrade their seats. MCC activated the choice-filling process and instructed students to carefully enter and lock their preferences within the given schedule.

To ease the process, MCC also introduced additional facilities. The PwD portal for certificate generation will remain open until 5 September 2025, enabling candidates with disabilities to participate smoothly. MCC extended the resignation facility from Round 1 until 3 September 2025, allowing students to withdraw without losing their security deposit. The committee also provided a reset/unlock registration option, giving candidates the chance to correct errors before finalizing their submissions.

This step marks a decisive point in the NEET UG admission journey, and MCC urged students to act within deadlines so they do not miss valuable opportunities.

Key Dates and Counselling Process

MCC started Round 2 registration and choice-filling on 4 September 2025 and will keep it open until 9 September 2025. During this period, candidates can enter their preferred colleges and courses.

On 9 September 2025, MCC will activate the choice-locking facility exclusively between 4 PM and 11:55 PM. After this deadline, the system will not accept any changes or modifications. Once candidates lock their choices, MCC will carry out the seat allotment process and release the results on 12 September 2025.

Selected candidates must report to their allotted colleges between 13 and 19 September 2025. Colleges will complete document verification and admission formalities during this period. Candidates who fail to report on time will lose their seats.

Expert Advice for Students

Medical education experts highlight that Round 2 serves as more than just a backup—it creates opportunities to secure better colleges and courses. They advise candidates to study cut-off trends carefully, compare available colleges, and arrange preferences realistically. Unlike Round 1, Round 2 carries greater binding weight because once a candidate accepts a seat here, they limit their participation in later rounds.

What Students Must Keep in Mind

Aspirants must:

  • Double-check their choice list before locking.

  • Stay updated with MCC notifications.

  • Avoid last-minute mistakes that could cost them admission.

With competition rising, the Round 2 choice-filling window gives medical aspirants a golden chance to secure seats in reputed institutions. Students who act on time, set smart preference orders, and strictly follow deadlines will increase their chances of success.
