Thiagarajar Polytechnic College is a self-financed autonomous institution located in the state of Tamil Nadu, INDIA which started its journey in the year 1958. The college is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & offers diploma courses in all the fields of Engineering. Located in 9.88 acres of land, the institute has a total student enrolment of 2331 and a total faculty strength of one hundred and thirty-eight. TPC stands for Thiagarajar Polytechnic College, which has provided various specialised conventional and technological courses for 10 different fields along with a single degree programme that includes Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Communication Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning courses.

The college believes in achieving the all-round development of students and therefore offers various resources to the students. The campus comprises male and female hostels to ensure that the students are provided with a home like environment within the compound with facilities such as reading room/library, computer lab, TV room/lounge, amongst others. This is the local library, which is the repository of information that stocks books, journals, and digital databases needed by the college clientele. Various laboratories of the college are established with the latest and most advanced equipment and are utilised for practical purposes by different departments. It also has effective information and communication technologies, computer that are connected to the internet and a computer-based library whereby students are able to access other physical and virtual learning materials.
Currently, Thiagarajar Polytechnic College has a total of ten diploma courses, all of which are day courses. The courses are also offered in various fields of engineering, so that the students can choose a course based on their dreams. The total approved intake for all courses combined is 840, says the dean, adding that there are enough openings for aspiring students.

The college infrastructure is good and well maintained classroom are spacious with proper ventilation and basic smart facilities labs are equipped with required tools for practice learning the library has useful academic books
It all depends upon the rules abd regulations of the College administration. Many of the Colleges allow students to take mobile with them in the classroom many don’t. Therefore I will suggest you to check it down in the website of Thiagarajar polytechnic college whether they allow it

The college has Two hostels function on the campus for boys creating a 'home away from home experience. The hostels' facilities include reading rooms, computers, and recreation avenues, providing an ambiance of congenial staying experience. The hostel is managed by a committee consisting of: Facilities: Uninterrupted power supply with generator facility thru 125 KVA in Boys Hostel and an exclusive 82.5 KVA power generator for the Women's Hostel. Uninterrupted water supply. Spacious rooms with sufficient lighting, fan, and furniture facilities. Residential tutors stay with the students. Special coaching is given to slow learners. Library and reading room. LCD Television Room. Telecommunication through landline and intercom. Nutritious food is served in two dining halls with a combined capacity of 400 in the Boys Hostel and 250 in the Ladies Hostel. Automated modern kitchen with steam Boilers, Cold room, Automatic Chapatti maker, Automatic Dosa Maker, Vegetable Cutter, Deep freezer, Flour kneader, Tilting grinders, Dishwashers, etc. Safe drinking water through water purifiers. Four × 1000 Litres per day solar water heaters for bathing purposes in the Hostels.
