About St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru
St Joseph’s College, Bangalore is an autonomous college which was established in 1882. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). SJC is affiliated to Bangalore University and follows all the rules and regulations of the university in terms of admission process. The college provides admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate and PG diploma programmes based on the merit of students in the qualifying students followed by an interview round. SJC also offers admissions to Ph.D programmes based on the merit of the written test conducted by the Bangalore University followed by an interview. The college also provides various academic and infrastructural facilities to the students and faculty members of the institute including classrooms, sports, auditorium, laboratories, hostels, library etc. SJC Bangalore has also formed many associations for the development and benefit of students.

St Joseph's College, Bangalore has a training and placement cell to organise the placement procedure for the students. Students are also provided training programmes on personality development and communication skills and help them prepare better for the recruitment process. The institute also makes sure that they can help most of the students getting placed into various companies by helping them in every possible way. St Joseph's College, Bangalore also conducts mock tests and practice session classes on Aptitude, Quantitative Ability, Logical and Reasoning to make students practice and get better before appearing for the final Interview and Written test. Detailed description on the whole procedure of placement followed by the Training & Placement cell are mentioned below.
Invitation- The T&P cell of St Joseph's College, Bangalore coordinates with the recruitment companies and sends an annexure to those companies and the recruiters in return need to fill all necessary information in the annexure. The Training and Placement Cell then fixes their dates with various recruiters based on the salary packages and other eligibility criteria offered by the recruitment companies.
Registration- Students need to register themselves with the T&P cell for the placement drive along with all required documents and students satisfying all eligibility criteria will be asked to proceed further for the recruitment process.
Slot-Allocation- Recruiters will then fix dates with St Joseph's College, Bangalore to visit the campus for conducting the recruitment process via various steps including written test, group discussion and interview.
Pre-Placement Talk- Students of St Joseph's College, Bangalore are given pre-placement talks by different recruiting companies to make them aware about the policies, roles and job profiles offered by them.

Classrooms- All the classrooms of St Joseph's College, Bangalore are well equipped with all modern facilities including LCD projector and speakers so that students can get advanced technology education from eminent professors.
Sports facilities- Various sports facilities are provided by St Joseph's College, Bangalore for the students. Various playgrounds for playing cricket, volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, track and field events. Other indoor games facilities like carrom, chess, badminton etc are also provided by the Institute.
Auditorium- The auditorium is well equipped with speakers and projectors where all events and fests are conducted with a seating capacity of 1200 people.
Canteen- St Joseph's College, Bangalore also has a canteen inside the campus which serves snacks, beverages and other food items to students and other members. All the food items are fresh and hygienic and students can get all snacks and food items at affordable prices.
Laboratories- St Joseph's College, Bangalore has provided labs for different subjects for conducting practical experiments and students to do their project works. All the labs are well organised and equipped with necessary equipment. Lab technicians are also there to guide and help students.
Hostels- St Joseph's College, Bangalore provides separate hostels to boys and girls. Students have to fill the application forms for hostels separately and rooms are allotted based on the availability. All the hostel rooms are provided with basic furniture and facilities. Library- The UG library has a collection of 81,717 books, 33 journals, 39 periodicals and 14 newspapers and the PG library is stocked with a collection of 9872 books, 21 journals, 11 periodicals and 10 newspapers. The library timings are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on all working days and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on vacations. Other photocopying facilities are also available inside the library.
- Boys Hostel
St. Joseph’s College Hostel in Bengaluru has magnificently designed hostel for men with all necessary amenities for boarding and other recreational activities. The hostel has its own Canteen to provide healthy and hygienic food to the students. The Canteen is maintained on a co-operative basis.
- Library
St. Joseph’s College Library is one of the oldest private govt. aided autonomous degree college libraries in Bengaluru. It is one of the well-stocked college libraries. It regularly subscribes to seventy-two international and national journals, magazines and fourteen daily newspapers. It caters to the needs of more than 4,500 undergraduate, postgraduate and research level staff & students. The library is fully automated, has a spacious reading hall and can accommodate one hundred users at any point in time.
- Sports
The College has dynamic teams for cricket, football, basketball, throw ball, table tennis. The college also has an athletic team and provides ample guidance and support for kabbadi, swimming, and chess to name a few.
- I.T Infrastructure
The college has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
- Cafeteria
All the canteens serve both vegetarian and nonvegetarian dishes. Snacks, hot and cold beverages are available in all three canteens during working hours. Considering a large number of students who depend on the canteens, food is served in subsidized rates.
- Auditorium
The Auditorium Complex also has four Seminar Halls. Approximately hundred people can be seated in each seminar hall. Depending on the requirement of the event the seminar halls comes in various sizes and seating options. All the four halls are ICT enabled along with a small dais for conducting programs.
- Alumni Associations
The college has a good networking for the alumni association.
- Wifi
The entire campus, both UG and PG are WiFi enabled, which can be freely accessed by both students and members of the staff.
- Convenience Store
Books & stationery are available in the stationery store in the College campus. Photocopying facility is also available in the stationary store.

There are ATM’s from two banks attached to the PG block for the use of students.
