Sri Taralbalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology (STJIT) was established in the year 1980 and is a well known institute in Ranebennur, Haveri, Karnataka. This affiliated college approved with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) provides following engineering disciplines. STJIT has a total of 52 acres of land, the total enroled students strength of 1427, while the teaching staff strength of 38 faculty members. The institute offers six undergraduate engineering programmes all of which are under the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree.

It also avails all relevant amenities to cover all aspects of student’s experiences to improve their learning in the Sri Taralbalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology. Hostels are available to accommodate different sexes, the capacity being 400 boys and 200 girls respectively. STJIT has a well stocked library with over ten thousand, one hundred and twenty six titles and forty four thousand and ninety six volumes and access to national and international journals. Besides for the sports cradle, the college offers a number of other sports activities such as cricket, football, volleyball, basketball and so on, for the college sports lovers. In addition, there is well endowed gym, a large cafeteria and health centre with a first aid department. STJIT has adequate number of laboratory facilities to support the academic need of various departments and there is a computer facility of 150 sqm.
The university provides six full-time BE programmes to meet the specialisation requirements of all engineering fields. Some of these courses are Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Science & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In total, the institute has got a total approved intake capacity of 300 students across all the degree programmes it offers The institute has 60 intakes for most of the courses while Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering offer 30 intakes each. All programmes are four-year full-time courses nevertheless allowing students acquire a sound knowledge on the respective fields of engineering.

The transparent merit-based admission system is dependent primarily on a score secured by the candidates at state or national-level examinations. The two major entrance examinations through which STJIT admits students include Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) and the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET).
The examination is usually held during May-June for the purposes of admitting students for the beginning of the academic year in August-September. The minimum eligibility criteria required to get into STJIT is that the candidate should have qualified the 12th standard or an equivalent course after which he/she is eligible for the entrance exams. Depending upon the performance of candidates in these entrance examinations as well as on the number of seats available, the cutoffs in these examinations may vary from year to year.
Application Process
In order to apply for the admission process to Sri Taralbalu Jagadguru Institute of Technology, Haveri, he/she has to do as follow:
1. Sit for either COMEDK UGET or KCET entrance examination.
2. Register for the respective entrance examination counseling process (COMEDK or KCET).
3. Fill up the application form for STJIT during counseling and indicate preference for the institute along with the programs for which the application is being made.
4. Submit all required necessary documents, which may include:
- 10th and 12th standard marksheets
- Entrance Examination scorecard (COMEDK UGET or KCET)
