Smt Indirabai G Kulkarni Arts JB Sawant Science College and Sau Janakibai Dhondo Kunte Commerce College, Alibag, a co-educational institution was set up in 1961 in Alibag, Raigad, Maharashtra state. This affiliated college owned by Kannur University, recognised by NAAC also gives a broad spectrum of courses in art, science as well as commerce stream. Existing as an independent college for arts and sciences, the college occupies a 5-acre area and is home to 2039 students of which 56% are female and 44% are males. 43 full-time faculty works in the institution and 11 courses are offered 7 degree programmes is offered in Information Technology, Computer Science, and Organic Chemistry streams. The college boasts extensive accommodations for the students to utilise to aid in their learning abilities.
The library is one of the oldest and largest academic library of Raigad district and it is at the centre of all these amenities. Over 80 000 books and 90 print journals & magazines with video conferencing capability – essential to students and staff. N-list programme also enables the library to access over 3,100,000 e-books and 6,000 e-journals. Similarly, various practical session is a special feature of Smt Indirabai G Kulkarni Arts JB Sawant Science College and Sau Janakibai Dhondo Kunte Commerce College where it has centralised 18 spacious laboratories in five departments to handle an average of 1000 students in a day. The computerisation is strong and 120 desk is provided in total with three shifts majorly for IT, CS and Physics classes.

- Library
The library at JSM College also acquires a prominent place among the students and faculty. The library of JSM College is one of the oldest and largest academic libraries in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. The College library was established with the establishment of the college in 1961. In the year 2005, the library was shifted to a separate new building. With a legacy that is close to 53 years. This vast repository of books has a collection of over 80000 books and subscribes to 90 print journals and magazines to cater to the needs of over 3000 students and 150 staff. The library also has access to over 3100000 EBooks and 6000 EJournals through the N-list program. Books in the Library are classified according to the Colon Classification system; which is an Indian innovation, a rarity today.
