Shri Sitheswarar Polytechnic College was started only in the year 1999, operating in Arcot, Tamil Nadu, is one of the reputed technical institutions which offer both diploma as well as Computer Applications courses among the young aspiring students. Located on a 7.49 acres of land, this affiliated college has been nurturing the future of the aspiring engineers for over two decades. AICTE affiliated, the institution provides numerous diploma courses in different branches of engineering. The total enrolment of students in the college is 863 and total number of faculties are 58 so student faculty ratio is good which helps the faculty to give attention towards each student and provide quality education.

Shri Sitheswarar Polytechnic College has acquired a number of facilities over the years with an aim of supporting the learning of the students. The library boasts of a stock of books in excess of 20, 000 is an information resource centre for all disciplines and general knowledge. To support practical learning, it also has well-equipped laboratory facilities with appropriate technology; Machine shop has a CNC Lathe among others. Technology has again been embraced at the college with the college having a fully air conditioned computer-laboratory with more than 180 computers fitted with high- speed broadband Internet connection. There are also vast and fairly developed playgrounds where students can engage in many activities of the games and sports. Other than just providing quality academic education, Shri Sitheswarar Polytechnic College also focuses extensively on co curricular activities. The institution also hosts an active Red Ribbon Club which conducts AIDS awareness programmes for students as well as the rural masses. NSS is also encouraged among the college students to create responsible citizens of the nation. This college provides comfortable hostel for boys and girls, well-equipped gym, and an auditorium for events/seminar. It also has good transport facilities with approx. 15 buses plying from and around Arcot to meet the transport needs of students and staffs.

Shri Sitheswarar Polytechnic College has five degree diploma programmes which are all of three years in duration and all are full time. These include Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering as well as Civil engineering. The total intake approved by the college is 420 across all degrees, though Mechanical Engineering degree has the largest capacity at 180. These diverse options of programmes reflect all interests and possible careers within the sphere of engineering.
