Sandur Polytechnic, Bellary was started in 1988, located at Yeshwantnagar via Sandur in the district of Bellary Karnataka State. This affiliated college approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has been producing technical talent for more than three decades. This institute comprises of twenty-five acres of area the institute offers a number of diploma courses in engineering disciplines. The total intakes of students are 595 and faculty of 34, so the Sandur Polytechnic atmosphere is suitable and more conducive for imparting technical knowledge. The institute is currently running five diploma courses for the students. It provides opportunities for a rich and diverse student community in each engineering discipline.

Sandur Polytechnic has a number of equipments proposed to impact positively in the learning process of the institute’s students. The library has large collection of books of 21889 including encyclopedia and hand books 25 technical journals and 33 magazines available. Despite the schedule compactness, the library is opened for the 12 hours for the extended studying students, especially during the sessions and examinations. The college also cares for health needs of the students through providing a spacious play ground for football, cricket, hockey, volley ball besides assembling amenities for indoor games like table tennis, carrom, chess etc. For the accommodation, the institute has Hostel facility for both Boys & Girls separately Boys Hostel : 240 and Girls Hostel: 60 with facility of spacious rooms, adequate electricity supply/ generator and Hot water facilities.
For the well balanced development of its students, Sandur Polytechnic has provided several extracurricular amenities. The college has been fortunate to put up a dispensary within the institution to offer free first-line treatment to those within the institution. For people who would wish to engage in exercises, then a facility for a gym is made available. The institute also has a good alumni base most of which engage with current students often providing their experiences. Sandur Polytechnic thus currently offers a total of five full time diploma courses all of which are a regular types of courses. The courses are Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, and Civil. The College has Boys' Hostels with a current capacity of 240 boys respectively. The Hostels have spacious rooms to ensure a comfortable stay and enjoy DG power connection for uninterrupted power supply and also a hot water facility. There is a vegetarian mess run on the dividing system.
