Centrally located in Karnataka, Sahyadri Science College, in the district of Shimoga, was established in the year 1941. This college occupies 81 acres which is most favourable for learning. Having rolled out its constitution as a constituent college, it has been shaping scientists in the country for eight-one years now. The college provides a 36 programmes spread across 6 degree programmes to accommodate scientific disciplines and achieve academic success.

Sahyadri Science College institution boast off its faculty of 45 hardworking and committed teachers and trainers who help the students through their educational process. This is a college committed to offering quality education as is evidenced by the college course list that offers among others B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and other newer disciplines like Biotechnology and Environmental Science.
There is well developed infrastructure that helps learners in their learning process on the campus. The college has well stacked library where students and teachers can access over 54,000 books/periodicals along with 21 journals subscription. It also offers the students with the exposure of e-journals through the UGC-inflibnet package, so that students are updated on the latest things happening in the country of their respective fields. Thus, the college also understands the concept of multilateral development with reference to its sport facilities such as wide playgrounds for outdoor games, indoor games hall, multi-gym etc. At the moment, construction of a new outdoor sports stadium with a planned seating of 40,000 is underway and sports enthusiast will be provided even better facilities.
Sahyadri Science College also take time to also provide quality amenities for student accommodation. There is boys’ hostel on the school compound with a student capacity of 150 and there is also a girls’ hostel next to the school with equal capacity. The college has a Gym facility for the students.
- Library
The college library came into existence with the inception of the college in the year 1940-41 with a collection of 1790 books, which was located in a classroom. In 2003, the library was moved to the current new building which has adequate space for cataloging, referencing, and borrowing. As of now it houses a total of 54,000 books and has a subscription to 21 journals. It has an N-LIST online resource facility of UGC-inflibnet Package for e-journals. The library is equipped with Xerox and internet facilities. It is partially automated with E-lib software.
- Sports
The Sahyadri college campus has got wide playgrounds for outdoor games, an indoor game hall, and multi-gym. There is provision for students to play basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, athletics, carom, table-tennis, etc. in their leisure time. Sports materials are provided in sufficient numbers. The Physical Director encourages the students to take part in sports activities of their interest, train them and support their participation in the inter-collegiate, zonal, and higher-level sports competitions. An outdoor sports stadium is being constructed on the college campus at the cost Of Rs.l I .45 crores from grants received from the University and Sports Authority of India (Rs.2.5 crores). Total Area of the Pavilion IS 7260.25sq. m and a seating capacity of 40,000.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.
- Cafeteria
There is a well-maintained canteen near to the main building. Snacks, soft drinks, and vegetarian food are available at reasonable prices for students, employees, and visitors. Xerox and Internet services are available in the College Canteen Block.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
- Boys Hostel
The College Boys hostel functions under a joint Hostel Advisory Committee comprising members from Sahyadri Science and Arts College. The hostel is located on the Sahyadri Science College campus. The hostel can accommodate up to 150 students of both the UG and PG programs in 52 rooms. The hostel is provided with adequate furniture, a separate kitchen, and a dining hall.
- Girls Hostel
The hostel is very nearly located to the College premises. Hostel facilities are available to students, few teaching members of Sahyadri Science College (PG and UG), and Research scholars as well. The hostel provides spacious accommodation with hygiene food practice. The intake capacity is up to 150. A new Girl's hostel of the Sahyadri Science College has been constructed with the financial assistance of UGC and Kuvempu University.
