Ratnapuri Institute of Technology College of Polytechnic, Medak (RITCOP) is well known technical college was started in the year 2009. This affiliated college of polytechnic education has set a standard for itself in the region. Located in a large 5.16 acre plot, RITCOP provides a wholesome learning environment for the development of technical education carrying out diploma courses in a variety of Engineering streams. At present, the total number of students admitted in the institute is 662 and has an adequate number of a faculty of 47 members which is sufficiently small enough to look after adequate number of students in order to provide proper attention and facilities.

Infrastructure is one of the major strengths of RITCOP in which all modern facilities are available to complement the philosophy of school. The institute has fully-developed laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Digital Electronics, Microprocessors, Electrical & Electronics Engineering etc. These labs allow the students gain practical experience right from the classroom in an effort to close the gap between the theoretical and the real world. The college library is a excellent place and has all essential collection of references, books, magazines etc. It also has resources to industrial information databases; students and faculty can use to update information within their fields.
There are seven full- time diploma programmes in this institute successfully running all of which are recognised by AICTE. These programmes cut across all the engineering disciplines as it offer various programmes to meet the career needs of students. These are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Electrical and Electronics engineering, Mechanical engineering, Agricultural engineering, Agricultural Technology, and Computer Science and Engineering. All the programmes accommodate 60 students while the Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Technology take only 30 students each.

Admission is done mostly through merit at RITCOP Since its establishment, it has been employing a very ordinary admission process. the candidate is eligible for admission into polytechnics he/she has to write the Common Entrance Test for admissions into Polytechnics (TS POLYCET) conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training Telangana. It is noted that this is the only entrance examination that is utilised for admission into all the diploma courses at the institute.

RIT COP Medak Facilities
- Boys Hostel
The college has Separate semi-furnished hostels available for boys separately within the campus. The faculty hostel is also located within the campus with 8 rooms on a twin-sharing basis on each floor. Some guest rooms are also being organized for the visiting faculty. Student accommodation is dormitory type with bunker beds. It is mandatory for all students seeking admission in Agriculture and Agriculture Engineering to stay in the hostel. Students run mess is available in the hostel located on the campus. Students manage the mess on a loss-profit basis. Nutritious, healthy, and tasty food is served to all the hostellers /faculty staying on the campus. Faculty members also dine in the same mess. Expenditure incurred during the month is shared by all the dining-in members. Vegetables and other food items grown by the agriculture students are supplied at a concessional rate to the mess. Once every two months mess committee is elected in the hostel general body meeting.
- Girls Hostel

The college has a well-stocked library containing reference material, Indian and International books, and magazines. RITM subscribes to an industry information database to make available large research resources and publications with search facilities to students and faculty. In addition, the library contains directories, industry reports, and statistical compilations that provide timely and concise information for project works. The library facility is open to all students and faculty members and is continuously updated with the latest books and journals under the supervision and advice of the library committee.
- Sports
The College has 4 Acre games field that has been established within the campus with facilities to play cricket, football, volleyball, 400-meter athletic track, long jump, shot put, discus throw, javelina, badminton, tennikoit, and Throwball. Facilities are available to conduct indoor games like Table Tennis, caroms, chess, etc. Interdepartmental and intradepartmental tournaments are scheduled season-wise.
- I.T Infrastructure
The College provides the latest hardware and software infrastructure to cater to the computing needs of all the students and the training needs of computer science and related programs. The Institution is equipped with powerful servers and multiple terminals with multiple operating systems enabling a client-server environment. The students are guided by well-experienced faculty to handle the computer labs. Leased internet is available to undertake research activities.
