Poyanil College of Nursing, Kozhencherry

Poyanil College of Nursing, Kozhencherry was started in 2010 catering to nursing education at UG and PG levels in Kerala, India. This co-educational college is an affiliated college in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala and recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Located on a limited area measuring 3 acres, the college at the moment is hosting 150 students and 17 highly skilled members of the faculty. Poyanil College of Nursing provide a pinpoint area of study and has only one degree program, proving its emphasis on nursing specialisation.

The college boasts of having made available modern facilities to boost learning for the students in the college. A written bibliography of nursing: It has about 2000 nursing books in its library and forty nursing journals, national and international. It has got reading room, photocopying services, and Information and computer based search services. In clinical positions, the college provides practical hands on jobs that combine standard curriculums and intensive Laboratory practice. 

It also boasts of living complexes that include a boy’s hostel and a girl’s hostel in order to enhance a home environment. Every hostel room contains basic facilities and accommodates two or three students. Amenities that are provided to include Television, Newspapers, and indoor games/Recreation facilities include;

Poyanil College of Nursing currently offers one full-time course: The courses include; The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing). This is a four-year program with an approved capacity to admit forty students per academic year, this is the colleges strategy of maintaining quality through size capacity. The B.Sc Nursing programme aims at developing adequate foundational theoretical knowledge as well as skills which are important while practicing nursing. However, it has not been possible to determine the overall number of graduates produced by the college but, the college’s focused and structured approaches to preparing nursing graduates were evidenced by the structured curriculum and dedicated facilities for the course.

Poyanil College of Nursing follows the Admission Policy of the Association of the Management of the Self-Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala. Applicants are expected to adhere to the application and admission processes in accordance with this kind of body.
