PET polytechnic college is an affiliated college which started in 2008 and is situated in, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, this institution comprises of diploma courses in various fields of engineering. With a land area of 12.65 acres , PET Polytechnic College has student strength 889 and faculty 51 strength. Currently the college offers six diploma courses in various engineering disciplines in order to suit the needs of the aspiring technician or engineers.

PET polytechnic college is aware of its duty of ensuring it offers a well rounded college to the learners. It provides myriad amenities for custodial and discretionary educational and personal growth functions. The 35,000 sq. ft. library has a book and 55 title strength of 17, 902 and abbreviated dailies and weeklies in both Tamil and English. In provision of accommodational needs for the students, the college has well furnished hostel for both male and female students which comes with additional facilities like TV hall, reading hall and dining hall. Modern practical training labs, a canteen with different types of foods and agronomical facilities for sports with significance to cultural and teamwork values also exists on the campus. Besides, the college operates a transportation system, through buses, which operates from different places around the institution for day scholars.
Currently, PET Polytechnic College has the following six full-time diploma courses and all of them take three years to complete. These courses cover various engineering fields so that students may select huge number of course to register for;- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering , Diploma in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Automobile Engineering etc. The total approved intake for all courses combined is 330 student per year.

The collection is replete with 17902 Volumes of Books, and 55 Titles. prominent dailies and magazines in Tamil and English. The library functions from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and offers book bank services too

The College Physical Education classes are compulsory for all students. Every student must undergo Physical Training activities that include normal physical exercise, Sports, and Games. Students are trained to participate in Inter – Polytechnic tournaments.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a spacious canteen facility on the college premises. A variety of South Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at subsidized rates with the best quality. The canteen has a big kitchen with a steam cooking facility and RO-treated water. The canteen is open from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM on all working days.

The college has buses plying from Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Marthandam, Tisayanvilai, Kayal Pattinum, and Kalakad exclusively for our students and staff at a very nominal fare. Women’s Hostel inmates are provided free transport between Hostel and College in the morning, lunch, and evening.
