NSS College Pandalam, was established in the year 1949 and is one of the premier institutions of learning situated at Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. This affiliated college recognised by NAAC also provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various fields. This campus based college is spread over a vast area of half a hundred and twenty seven acres and has total strength of 2721 students with 87 faculty members. NSS College Pandalam now has 24 courses under its wing and can be considered a holder of 7 degrees.

NSS College ’s aim is to create a good environment along with proper facilities for the pleasant and effective learning of the students. The central library is supplemented with departmental libraries and contains many books and leading daily newspapers for the male and female students’ academic requirements. Accommodation; properly equipped laboratories facilitate practical activities especially in science subjects teaching and learning process. For the student with an interest in learning offered hostels for female students have 26 rooms housing 75 inmates and offers amenities such as games. Added to this is a canteen facility, football pitch and basketball court, a multi-station athletes’ gym, and an event and seminar’s auditorium.

College Infrastructure
The college has all necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. But the labs are a bit rusty, libraries dusty, and some classrooms don’t have enough bunches. The living spaces are clean enough and the food is hygienic.

I am studying BSc Physics. The teachers aren't too great, but that doesn't affect the studies. The Kerala University curriculum is so old-school and it doesn't make you job-ready. The University is student-unfriendly, that's not the college's fault though.

The college has a Central Library and various department libraries. The department libraries contain books relating to the respective subjects and are under the control of the Heads of the Department. The central library contains a large stock of books related to numerous subjects and literature. Students can borrow two books at a time and shall return them within the prescribed duration of time. Spoiling and damaging books invoke a penalty. A lost book shall be replaced or the fine remitted. Copies of each of the leading newspapers are subscribed to cater to the needs of both male and female students separately at the two library wings.

- Students will be responsible for any breakage or loss of the apparatus used in the lab.
- Students shall not take any chemical or instrument from outside into the lab or take out any instrument or chemical from the laboratory.
