Kuvempu Shatamanothsava Shikshana Mahavidyalaya, Shimoga in Kuvempu, Karnataka is an Institute for Training Teachers. This affiliated college started operation in 2005 and is a training forging ground of teachers for close to two decades. The college occupies a very small plot area of 1.1 acres and has been approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which means that it follows the paradigms expected of teacher education institutions in the country. This is an institute with the maximum enrolment of students that is 175 and a total faculty of 14 which makes a perfect combination of teacher student ratio in favour of sufficing student desires and aspirations at a time when they are a lot more focused and need a lot more attention than before.

The Kuvempu Shatamanothsava Shikshana Mahavidyalaya must have a list of facilities that would improve the learning facility of the students. Its technological infrastructure is centered at a computer unit equipped with ample number of computers and the school has a privilegious ratio of computers students as it has 15 computers in a school. Serving as an enclosed network area with internet access, this lab is most valuable in cultivating important aspects of ICT literacy in modern educators. The other important facility is the science laboratory which contains all the necessary stuff allowing science learners practice experiments related to their teaching syllabus.  

Kuvempu Shatamanothsava Shikshana Mahavidyalaya currently offers one primary course: or what is referred to as the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This course is a two-year full-time course with an approved intakes of one hundred students. B.Ed programme aims to provide the pedagogy, skills, and experience that is needed by a future teacher to be effective in his or her chosen endeavours. Thus the intent of the college in focusing this specialised teacher training programme emphasises its concerns in quality education in teacher preparation.

The admission procedure is done strictly on merit basis which refers to marks secured in the previous examination and/or entrance exam. The college abide by the admission policies as dictated by the state government of Karnataka and the affiliated University. This approach can enable deserving individuals to actualize their desire of becoming tutors through a transparent method that was developed in this approach. Though the information concerning scholarships is lacking the college focus on education implies that the institution would be supportive to students who wish to be teachers in the future.
