College is affiliated and recognized as such by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It has an enrollment of 266 students supported by a faculty strength of 18, with a broader provision on undergraduate programs. A well-furnished library serves as a hub of knowledge with resources for academic and research purposes. Departmental laboratories carry out the practical work prescribed for science courses. A health center on site with first aid facilities is also available for students’ health and well-being. Physical education is also taken care of through sports facilities to balance student development. Keeping in mind the trend of current modernization, the institution has a splendid IT infrastructure where students can groom themselves. The auditorium hosts events and seminars related to cultural activities and enables vibrant college life. Strong links are also maintained with former students through an active alumni association; this association builds networking avenues for current students.There are four full-time undergraduate courses offered by Government Women’s College, Gardanibagh, which are Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). It is expected that these courses will furnish a well-rounded education to the students and shape them for pursuing further studies and professional careers. At present, 50 are approved for the college B. Ed. program, which directly relates to teacher training; thus, there is evidence of an emphasis by the institution on producing qualified teachers.The admission procedures at Government Women’s College, Gardanibagh are different depending on the course chosen. The admissions for the B.Ed are based on merit, using marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance. Admission policies set out by the state government, Union Territory administration, and the affiliated university apply to Government Women’s College, Gardanibagh.
