Raja Lakhamagouda Science Institute a premier autonomous Institution located at Belgaum Karnataka established in the year 1935 KLE Society is one of the premier institutes for teaching-learning in the country. This illustrious college is located on a vast area of 25 acres and was founded nearly eight decades earlier to foster scientific talents. Approved by National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC), the institute has a vibrant focus on the various science and computer application based undergraduate and post graduate courses. At present, the total population of the institute is 1, 624 where 55% of the students belong to the female gender, and 45% of the students in the male gender at the undergraduate level. Currently, the institute is endowed with ninety-one dedicated faculty members, and an appropriate student to a faculty ratio implying high qualities of education for the students.

The institute boasts of having well equipped infrastructure that assists the development needs of the students. The library, which can be called “Golden Cabinet ‘’ contains numerous books for students and faculties, functioning as an informative center. In this regard the institute has built a 400 meter cinder track, many courts for various games and indoor stadium. We have functional laboratories, spacious hall for events, seminars and receptions, and a canteen.
KLE Society’s Raja Lakhamagouda Science Institute, an affiliated College of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, has started with one course in the beginning, and now, they offer five courses in all of which have undergraduate and postgraduate classes. The institute provides three full-time undergraduate programs, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Computer Applications, Master of Science in Physics and Master of Science in Mathematics. Recently the institute has added M.Sc. Chemistry also to its array of courses offered range of courses.
