Khalsa College for Women is one of the renowned women’s institution having its present in Ludhiana, Punjab, India established in the year 1958.. Located over a 14 acre area it has 24 courses across 12 degree programmes with a total strength of students as 3719. Currently the college has a total of 54 faculty members so student faculty ratio is still relatively good. Khalsa College for Women also has various facilities which complements the learning process and has all round facilities for the college. It has a rich library with over 60,000 books, twenty journals and accesses modern digital resources of its campus. Currently students study in 29 laboratories; there are computer laboratories equipped with Internet-connected systems, as well as licensed software. The college therefore supports 20 different games for the holistic development of its students and many students have produced medals at various award of tourneys.
Khalsa College for Women provides whole spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This college offer 24 courses out of which the BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, M.Com, M.Sc and MA are very popular. Khalsa College for Women in Ludhiana is equipped with modern facilities such as state of the art classrooms well-equipped laboratories and a comprehensive library stocked with resources. The campus is not only spacious.

The campus infrastructure is quite old and needs renovation. The buildings, lecture halls and laboratories need to be painted. The labs have less equipment as compared to the equipment required. Many benches are also broken. The playground and auditorium are good.

The campus is spread over a very large area. The campus is mostly surrounded by other colleges and markets in the center of Ludhiana. The infrastructure is quite old and needs renovation. Cleanliness is not much taken care of.

The syllabus is too old as compared to the present job requirements. 75% attendance is compulsory and there is a gating system so that the students do not miss the lectures. Teachers are good, caring and helpful but the teaching quality is not so good.

- Girls Hostel
The college has 4 wings of Hostel equipped with all modern amenities. These hostels can accommodate approximately 600 students very comfortably. The hostels have – Common rooms; Visitors’ rooms; P.C.O.; and Photostat Facility. The lady Doctor visits the Hostel dispensary on a regular basis. The hostels of the college provide an environment akin to home and a family member-like treatment is meted out to the hostellers in addition to inculcating discipline among them. Airy rooms, clean ambiance, and healthy food provision make the stay in the hostels a pleasurable one.
- Medical/Hospital
The college has a health center with a provision of a lady doctor for the medical care of the students. A medical check-up of the students is carried out regularly. The college has an annual contract with the multi-specialty Gurdev Hospital, Ludhiana for all types of medical requirements.
- Library
The Library was established in 1958 from a meager collection of 225 books. It has developed into a modern and well-stocked library. It is partially air-conditioned and surrounded by the lush green playground and dotted with beautiful ornamental trees. The mandate of the library is that no bonafide reader is allowed to be deprived of its rich resources. The total area of the library is 5600 sq. ft. – The reading room area covers 1300 sq. ft. The stack area covers 4000 sq. ft. The store covers 300 sq. ft. The library has more than 60,000 books and subscribes to 20 journals. Besides, it receives 13 newspapers and 30 magazines. The library and reading room are kept open to all students from 9 are to 4 pm on all working days. It has an open-access facility. The entire collection is automated using the SOUL Library Management Software and all metadata entries are stored there only. All books have been automated with barcode labels and charging & discharging of books is carried out through the use of a laser scanner. For meritorious and economically backward students book bank facility is available. The library also provides books to students during the examination time with a collection of deposit money. - Sports
The college has well-groomed teams of 20 games like Cricket, Hockey, Volleyball, Baseball, Basketball, Softball, Road Cycling, Track Cycling, Taekwondo, Lawn Tennis, Chess, Cross-Country, Kabaddi, Power-Lifting, Wrestling, Weight-lifting, Athletics, Kho-Kho. Major Achievements in Sports In Sports, the college has to credit International, National, State level, and District level achievements. The college sports teams have won accolades in various championships and the players have set new records in different games. The college has bagged 226 Gold Medals, 194 Silver Medals, 140 Bronze Medals, and 14 Overall Championship Trophies in the past five years and 16 Runners-up Trophies in different games. In 2011-12, the college bagged 1st Runners-up Overall Trophy in Panjab University, Chandigarh and Overall Trophy in Panjab University, Chandigarh in 2012-13 by scoring 342.5 points. In 2015-16, the college bagged Runners-up Trophy in Panjab University, Chandigarh.
- I.T Infrastructure
The college has AN excellent IT Infrastructure facility for all the students.
- Cafeteria
The College canteen is a thriving hub of activity in the College throughout the year. The canteen, with a covered area of 4292.25 sq. ft, has a seating capacity of more than one hundred students and a separate section for faculty. A variety of Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college with the highest quality. The canteen has a big kitchen and kitchen staff takes extra care to provide the students and staff with nutritious and hygienic food. Fresh Juice and Snack Corner is a popular spot where students can enjoy fresh juice and snack tit-bits to rejuvenate them. The Canteen Monitoring Committee keeps an eye on the working of the canteen and conducts a periodical inspection to check the production and sale of quality food and rendering of decent service at reasonable and approved rates.
- Auditorium
The college has a centrally air-conditioned auditorium on the campus with a seating capacity of more than 700 students. The auditorium, built with the latest state-of-architecture design is equipped with the most modern facilities and is the pride of the college. It is equipped with hi-tech audio-visual equipment and a super specialty sound and light system. It acts as a platform for the students for fruitful academic and cultural activities. The college campus has a spacious open-air theatre that provides a platform to conduct departmental activities as well as host various cultural events and exhibitions. It is also a favorite space for student interaction and the creative exchange of ideas. It has a seating capacity of approx. 600 hundred students. There is multipurpose utilization of hall, e.g. for conducting functions, exhibitions, seminars, conferences, workshops, mid-term and end-semester exams, staff meetings, placement drives, alumni association meetings, etc. The college has provided infrastructural facilities in the form of a seminar hall, for conducting workshops, conferences, symposia, guest lecturers, etc. Two seminar halls have all the necessary ICT equipment.
- Alumni Associations
The college has a good networking for the alumni association.
- Laboratories
The college has well-equipped 29 labs for practical work and comprehensive. teaching. College computer labs have as many as 100 computers that have the facility of internet and licensed software and projectors to helps students to envisage things better. College Laboratories are equipped with the latest apparatus for students.
- Convenience Store
The College Book Shop provides all textbooks and practical copies to the students at a reasonable price. Books pertaining to the university syllabus and general books are made available to hostellers as well as day scholars. The College has a provision store that caters to the needs of the students especially the hostellers. Daily requirement material is available at minimal prices for the students in addition to some stationery also.
- Parking Facility
The college has a multilevel parking facility for students and teachers under CCTV surveillance to ensure security, safety, and discipline in the college. Additional security is provided in the student's parking area to address complaints of theft in the areas.
- Banks/ATMs
The college has a bank facility for the convenience of the student and the staff, the college has an extension counter of Punjab and Sind Bank, Ludhiana which is very useful for hostel students as well. ATM facility is also available.
- Training and Placement Cell
The Placement Cell of the college provides placement cum career counseling services to the students. The cell organizes various interactive sessions with industry experts to apprise the students about the latest developments in the industry and the skill demands of the industry for obtaining gainful employment. The cell accordingly prepares the students for appearing in the campus and off-campus interviews by organizing various activities like group discussions, mock interviews, personality development programs, etc.

The campus infrastructure is quite old and needs renovation. The buildings, lecture halls and laboratories need to be painted. The labs have less equipment as compared to the equipment required. Many benches are also broken. The playground and auditorium are good.
Good college but Government College is better

The campus is spread over a very large area. The campus is mostly surrounded by other colleges and markets in the center of Ludhiana. The infrastructure is quite old and needs renovation. Cleanliness is not much taken care of.
