JIST Jorhat

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology has two boys’ hostels and one Girls’ hostel. JIST hostel facility enables different kinds of room-sharing modes. Every student has a bed, table, chairs, and plug-in facility. Water and electricity are provided 24x7. Kitchen, cooking utensils, and dining space are available under hygienic and clean conditions.

Hostel facilities are available within the campus for girls students. There is one Girls‘ Hostels. Different types of room sharing modes are available in the college hostel such as rooms that can accommodate either one-two or three students. A bed, a table, a chair, and a plug point are provided to each student. Round-the-clock running water supply in the bathrooms, toilets, and electricity is provided to the students at the hostel. The mess facility is arranged and maintained by the students themselves with each hostel having its own cooking utensils, kitchen, and dining space. Cleanliness and hygiene are maintained by the adequate number of supporting hostel staff. Indoor games and outdoor games are available for the students in the hostel for recreation of the students. All the hostels are connected with WI-FI wireless network with a 24 x 7 internet facility.

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology library facility enables access to a wide range of useful resources. Books on various subjects are available to cater to the subject needs of the students. JIST library subscribes to the monthly newspapers and periodicals. Apart from this the library also subscribes to e-Journals. The department library has department-specific books. Also, the library is equipped with internet and printing facilities for students and teachers. 

JIST Jorhat laboratory facility enables students to gain practical experience. All the necessary equipment is well arranged to ease the operations. In case of any hazard, required precautionary measures are arranged. 

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology medical/hospital facility provides students with a doctor, a nurse, and a pharmacist for first-aid and emergency under clean conditions. 

JIST Jorhat alumni associations aspire to have a database of the passed-out students of the college. Alumni contribution will help freshers face issues easily. Hence alumni contribution counts. JIST Jorhat Alumni Association invites passed-out students to fill out the Google form available on the official website. 

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology provides transport facilities to the students and staff. As the college is situated on the outskirts of Jorhat Town, two college buses are arranged timely. 

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology sports facility enables students and staff to have recreation through indoor and outdoor games. 

The training and placement cell of JIST is an elite association of faculty/student initiative interested in producing successful engineers, educational experts. After the establishment of this cell way back in 2011, it has been constantly trying to bridge the gap between industry andacademia. The main objective of the cell is to develop and serve practicing engineers, industry, educational and technical societies through consultancy work by providing professional expertise. The cell highly values students’ industrial training opportunities and always tries to get the students recruited by finding the best match between their needs and capabilities. The cell also put serious efforts to improve the quality of students by organizing motivational talks, seminars, workshops etc through best / available experts.
