‘IRT’ Polytechnic College was founded in the year 1992 and is a self financing, Technical Institution located in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, India. Located at a spacious campus of 9.17 acres, it is a co-ed institute of engineering offering excellent education in different branches of engineering. The college which is an affiliated institution has total enrollment of 656 students and is benefited from 29 dedicated faculty members. ERT Polytechnic College has a number of amenities intended to make the learning process of the students more effective and efficient. Incorporated into these facilities is a spacious hall placed for a multi-tiered library with a seating capacity of 125 and a collection of 10392 books out of which 385 books are reserved specially for Sc/ST students through the book bank scheme. There are well equipped modern laboratories for each of the departments apart from the general laboratories to enable the student get a practical feeling as is important in any technological course. Sports facilities, the other one of our institute’s amenities, can be used by students to balance their academic and physical activities. It also has embraced technological challenges in its excellent IT facilities that students must embrace the technological world. Needs that are met within this college include a cafeteria found within the compound that meets the food demands of the staff and students and a health center that has first aid services relevant to the college teaming community.
ERT Polytechnic College has a limited number of diplomas on offer and they are all, through full-time study, which takes three years. The institute currently provides four diploma programmes: The programmes include Diploma in Computer Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
