Institute of Aerospace Medicine or IAM came into existence in 1957 and is located in Vimanapura, Karnataka. It is one of the most prominent institutes in the field of aviation medicine throughout the world. This affiliated college, over an area of 30 acres, is particularly designed and developed for the streamline field of aviation medicine. NAAC accredited, IAM approved by NMC is committed to becoming a flagship institution for aerospace medical education in the world. It has a total of 26 students and a faculties of which 29 members and offers a one of its kind MD programme in Aviation Medicine annually admitting 10 student enrolments.

The needed academic and research facilities necessary for IAM are available in the form of modern facilites. The institute has a good library and students are exposed to a rich reading materials and journals in aerospace medicine. High tech laboratories are available to meet the individual requirements of aviation medical research and training.
