Government Polytechnic, Sangareddy

The Government Polytechnic, Sangareddy coming into existence in the year of 2009 and its functions under the state government of Telangana, India. Considering its link with the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Hyderabad the institute offers diploma programmes recognised under the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Situated in a campus area of 6 acres, the polytechnic has an overall student strength of 299 and faculty of 12 members. The institute has three diploma programs in engineering specializations to meet the education demands of technician and engineer candidates in the region.

All the needed and essential facility requirements are available for the support of students and faculty members of Government Polytechnic, Sangareddy campus. There is an institute library where students can access a various number of books, publications and journals which may help students in their academic activities and assignments. A learning environment is created through large classrooms and well designed laboratory facilities which include a Physics and Chemistry laboratory. Technology and internet facilities availed to the classes make the students embrace modern technology through the computerized laboratory. Further, the institute has sports facilities, aiming at the development of sporting talent and improvement of the health of students.

Government Polytechnic, Sangareddy consists of a total of two engineering diploma courses, all of which are for full-time and for three years’ duration. Some of the programs offered are; Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The achievable intakes for each course have been approved appropriately at 60 students making a total of 180 students for all courses. These courses are aimed at building a solid fundamental knowledge in prerequisite disciplinary subjects for students to start a successful career or to pursue an advanced level engineering degree.

The intakes of the school has merit-based system in which it opens opportunities to qualified candidates to attend preferred programs at Government Polytechnic, Sangareddy. As noted by Landem, students interested in pursuing a course in the institute has to qualify among the requirements set by the institute. The polytechnic offers admission based on the Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test – TS POLYCET. This entrance exam is played as the key opening to all those students who seek a chance to join different diploma courses in engineering and other non-Engineering courses in Telangana. 

The candidates aspiring to participate in the TS POLYCET should be updated with the date of examination and the admission dates. Unfortunately, it is impossible to identify the reception of a particular scholarship, however, possible scholarships can be discussed with the institute directly. Government Polytechnic, Sangareddy will go from strength to strength and continue to offer its support to the cause of technical education in Sangareddy and the production of skilled manpower in the area.
