Government Polytechnic Jammu hostel facility provides a separate hostel for boys and it is equipped with all basic facilities. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan. It has a well-furnished dining hall, facility of TV room, and rooms for games for recreation. The hostel is beautified by a lush green lawn and is laden with trees like Chinar, Palm, etc. Above all, the hostel has a dedicated, 24-hour, special power supply line. In addition to a regular PHE connection, a hand pump is installed to cater to the water shortage. There is a very conducive atmosphere for studies because the hostel building is at a good distance from the residential areas.

Government Polytechnic Jammu Library facility includes books that are issued to students for a period of one month on the production of a valid college Identity Card. The library has two different halls that include the Books Section and the Reading Room Section. it is rich in General Books, Learning Resources Centre (LRC), Reference Books, and books related to the current syllabus of J&K SBOTE. The seating capacity is being augmented to accommodate a large number of students and make use of library facilities. 

Government Polytechnic Jammu auditorium is one of the best auditoriums in Jammu city. The auditorium has a seating capacity of more than 250 persons. It is fully air-conditioned and has all audio-visual gadgets, a proper lighting system, and good acoustics. It is backed up with a 40KVA generator, in case of a power failure during the event. 

The Government Polytechnic Jammu facility provides a good canteen for staff and students. It is a place where fresh and hygienic foods can be obtained at reasonable prices throughout the day. The seating space is hygienic and comfortable and therefore, a place of rest during the breaks is in high demand. Students are free to munch on some food and snacks in a great setting.

Government Polytechnic Jammu Medical facility provides a health center with first aid in the college for students. Minimal treatment is offered to students on the campus to take care of minor injuries and health problems. The center assures the provision of fast help in situations of danger and also keeps a stock of the most necessary medicines. The Government Polytechnic Jammu laboratory facility is provided to cater to the needs of the students. Each lab has been provisioned with the necessary instruments and tools to facilitate the students' learn the practical aspect of their courses. The students are provided with direct training under the guidance of the skilled teaching staff. The safety aspects, well-arranged areas, and modernised services make the laboratories efficient and student-friendly.

Government Polytechnic Jammu has reached out to all its former students and invited them to become members of the Alumni Programme of Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, Jammu. The association serves as a medium that links up past and present students with each other. Alumni become involved by providing the college with industry knowledge, taking part in events, and mentoring students along their career paths. The college community is thus bonded through regular meetings.

Government Polytechnic Jammu's guest room facility provides four rooms, 1 conference hall, a kitchen, and some open space. The rooms are air-conditioned and have facilities like TV, geysers, etc. The conference hall has a capacity of about 25 people, and it is equipped with a PA system. The Guest House can be hired by private as well as Government organisations on a payment basis. The preference is given to the guests of the institution.

The Government Polytechnic Jammu facility includes parking services that provide parking space for the faculty, staff, and students. The place has been very well arranged and safety measures are being taken care of through the presence of security personnel. The availability of a large area makes it possible for the vehicles to be parked without any inconvenience. This parking facility is not only a support for the daily commuting but also a great help in the smooth flow of movement within the campus ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌area.

Red Ribbon Club in which a blood donation camp is an annual event organised by the NSS unit of Government Polytechnic Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion, GMC Jammu. Doctors from the GMC coordinate and collect blood from the donors. Every Year, 1st blood donated is by the Principal of Government Polytechnic Jammu and then followed by the teaching and students of this institute. The essence of donating blood is that it can save the lives of about 3 human beings certainly elates the conscience of donors.

Different events are organised by the college where the students get an opportunity to take part. These are the events - Cultural shows, Competitions, Workshops, and Talent exhibitions - which help the students' creative and individual growth. Students who take part in such activities get an opportunity to display their talents, their confidence levels get a boost, and they also get a chance to learn team spirit. Besides that, the college is always there with a variety of platforms for the students' overall development, which is outside academic studies. ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌

The Government Polytechnic Jammu Training and Placement Cell facility started in the year 2002-2003. The Training and Placement Cell arranges various campus interviews for candidates of various trades of Diploma Engineering. Since its inception, many students of the Institution have been placed in various industries in the State as well as outside the State. The Training and Placement Cell members are responsible for the overall arrangement of various placements & campus interviews within the institution.
