Government Polytechnic, Jamalpur Shekhon, Fatehabad, Haryana was started in the year 2018 and is one of the known Technical Institutions. The co-ed institute affiliated to the State Technical Education Board has a variety of diploma courses in Engineering and Technology. This polytechnic is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and works toward serving quality technical education. This institute has an enrolment of 639 students and a faculty strength of 10. It provides a focused learning environment. The polytechnic offers five diploma courses—focusing on Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Computer Engineering, as well as Medical Laboratory Technology.

Government Polytechnic, Jamalpur Shekhon has various facilities to support the proper learning environment of students. Laboratories of different types are available within the campus and are well-furnished in conducting practical training in all sorts of technical courses. A full-fledged library acts as a knowledge hub that enables students to access a plethora of educational resources. Government Polytechnic Jamalpur Shekhon offers five full-time diploma courses of three years each: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, and Communication Engineering. The approved intake of the institute in total, across all courses, is 300 students, with an intake of 60 students per program. This structured intake will enhance resource use and personal attention to students.

The admission procedure to Government Polytechnic, Jamalpur Shekhon is fair and based totally on merit. In all Diploma Engineering courses, in special categories also viz. HGST, KM, MAR, SDB, TFW and EWS, admissions are made on the basis of merit of Secondary School Examination or other qualifying examination.
