Government Degree College, Santirbazar (GDC Santirbazar) is the government college which was started in the year 2012 in the South Tripura region of India. Being an affiliated college, NAAC approved, it provides under graduate programmes in different fields. With a 18 acre campus, GDC Santirbazar is home to 863 students out of which 48% are male and rest 52% students are females. It has a team of staff of 20 and offer six programmes of study with two degree programmes of arts and humanities. Local focus is a major characteristic of the institution, for all the students are from within the state.

The college therefore recognises the need to ensure that proper learners environment is made available to students. The library occupying a central area of the institution is a home of 4, 551 books mostly textbooks addressing the syllabi of the BA programmes offered. This is a popular resource, used equally by students and teachers, who are supported by a specialised Library Assistant. Another goal of the college is to also develop an automated system for its library to improve organization. For technological requirement GDC Santirbazar has setup a computer laboratory with 8 computers replaced in every year and so the student standard of ICT can also be built up here. It also has a neat canteen that provides a number of food items at low prices; the campus bans the sale of junk foods, and cigarettes.
As of now GDC, Santirbazar, is providing total 6 undergraduate courses but all are full time courses. The college offers three years undergraduate course and awards Bachelor of Arts (BA) with different honours and major subjects such as Political Science, History, Education, Bengali and English. The library is known as the heart of any academic institution. It is the powerhouse that has various sources of information through which knowledge is expanded. Keeping in mind this fact, the library of the college has been improving with the increased number of books. The college purchases books from time to time as per the funds given by the government. At present, it has total of 4,551 books. These are most textbooks covering the syllabus of the BA Programme. The library is used by both teachers and students. The college Library is being taken care of by one Library Assistant. The college also strives to transform from a manual library to an automated one to help the students to find the books that they require.

The College computer laboratory has 08 computers for students to develop their computer skills and to keep updating themselves with computer knowledge. All computers are maintained and regularly updated.
