The Government College of Education Jammu has many facilities that are put into use for improving the learning process of the students. Essentially the college library is a wealth of knowledge that will provide the needed books, journals and other materials of different fields. It also has a Career Corner with materials of competitive examinations. Some of the facilities developed in the IT section of the college are more than twenty seats of the network computerised laboratory, Broad Band Internet connection and other modern teaching aids. The college has playing fields for volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, cricket and also has facilities for table tennis for the sports lovers. Accommodation facilities have also been provided in the boys and girls apart from hostels and thus can house out station students in a comfortable manner. A canteen, medical facility, and gymnasium add up to the needs of the students to have a healthy state physically as well as the sickness of the students is also attended by a medical facility.
The institute has three full time courses in education at the undergraduate as well as at the post graduate level. these include 200 seats for the two years programme in B.Ed, 29 seats in M. Ed for another two years programme and One Hundred and Twenty Five for the integrated B. Ed-M. Ed programme that is offered over a three year’s period. The combined Conventional Intake for all programmes is 459, this is due to the fact that the college strives to achieve the best proportion of students and teachers in order to enhance learning. The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college library has educational as well as general collections pertaining to disciplines such as Social Science, Science, Art of Teaching, Technology, Literature, History, and Geography. It has a good collection of Reference books such as Encyclopaedias, Biographies, Yearbooks, Gazetteers, Directories, Atlases, Journals, Proceedings, Lectures, and Dictionaries. The library has local as well as National Newspapers, Magazines, Dissertations, and Teaching Aids. The Library has also set up a Career Corner and has procured books related to Competitive exams for the students who wish to appear in various Competitive Examinations. The Library is subscribing to various magazines and daily newspapers. In this electronic era, the library has also subscribed e-journals through the N-List (National library and information services infrastructure of scholarly content) project of INFLIBNET, Ahmadabad, an Initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Under the NME-ICT now funded by UGC, as college component under UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium. Under this project, the college faculty has been provided with the username and password to access the e-journals on a database of the N-List project. The library unit is in two parts, B.Ed and M.Ed library being supervised by the college librarian. The library collection is arranged subject-wise in a classified manner, which has been initiated very recently. The collection has been divided into various sections.
- Laboratories
The College laboratory plays an important role in effective and efficient Science teaching. A major part of the time spent in learning science has to be used for Practical work either in the classroom or as a demonstration in the Laboratory individually or in groups. Science Laboratory” is needed to keep the instruments, apparatus, chemicals and other materials safe and secure, and ready for use. Laboratories help in the sense of co-operation and spirit at competitions.

The government under the scheme NME- ICT with unlimited broadband of 512Kbps speed provides the internet connection. The department has a comprehensive collection of the latest books, which are stocked in the college's main library. The department is subscribed to a high-speed internet connection of 4Mbps bandwidth (BSNL) broadband. The resource center is networked for resource sharing and networking is implemented under star topology.
