Gitarattan Institute of Advanced Studies and Training or simply GIAST, was written in 1999 and is an education establishment located in Rohini, Delhi. This affiliated college situated in a 1.86 acres learn campus aims to cultivate educationist of future generation. Approved by National Council for Teacher Education [NCTE} and recognised by Mr. National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC], GIAST follows quality education. Currently the institute has two full time course with total enrolment capacity of 377 and is backed by 22 dedicated faculties. The institiute possesses a number of child friendly equipment and facilities as we shall see next chapter equipped to improve the students’ learning environment. The school boasts a well stocked library with more than 12500 books, 200 CDs on education and 200 sets of encyclopaedias, besides e-journals and DELNET. The computer lab which has twenty-five desktops installed with Windows 10 and Internet connection address innovative learning resources for students to employ. Approximately 50 sports amenities are offered at GIAST, both indoors and outdoors, for the combined health and education of the students. It has amenities for indoor sporting facilities such as table tennis, chess, yoga hall, and for playground outside basketball court, cricket ground and football ground.
GIAST offers two primary courses in teacher education: the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) and the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), are two year programs.

The College has one medical room on the premises. It is clean, hygienic, and highly appropriate for first-aid –aid and other facilities. A trained nurse is present all the time for any emergency.

The College has library is very rich with a collection of the latest reference books, journals, periodicals, newspapers, magazines, and e-journals. It has nearly 2500+ Titles with 12500+ Books in various areas of teacher education and related fields. The library also has more than 200 educational CDs and about 200 sets of Encyclopaedias with access to computers with high-speed internet connectivity, having DELNET. The institute library offers learning materials for both student-teachers and educators. A well-designed reading area with a stimulating ambiance encourages students to pursue knowledge and widen their horizons. An independent section for computer consoles allows access to an online reserve of e-learning support material for in-depth research.
- Sports
The College has the best indoor sports facility for the students. The institute has an indoor sports hall catering to many games, like Table Tennis, Cardboard, Chess, Yoga, Aerobics, Badminton, etc. For outdoor games, the Institute has a big playground with sports facilities like Basketball, Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Football, Kho-Kho, etc. Playing such games, under the supervision of trained coaches and teachers, sharpens skills and invigorates the mind. The college has a computer lab with 25 desktops working with WINDOWS 10 original software. Each computer has been provided with an internet facility. The College has "Eco-Club" activities, the Poster Making Competition held on 6th January 2020 in the Campus Auditorium. Students participated actively in the competition and came up with vibrant and thoughtful pieces of art under EcoClub Activities. Principal Prof. Sonia Jindal graced the event and motivated the students.
- Workshops
The College has been conducted by Mr. Dalchand Prajapati, who is well known for his exemplary contribution to pottery making and clay modeling, and has been honored with many state-level awards. In the first session, Mr.Dalchand introduced to the students the brief history of Pottery Art and the prominent artists of the present day. In the second session, Mr.Dalchand molded the clay on a potter's wheel to prepare Lord Ganesha's idol, flower pots, pen stands, sparrows, frogs, cups and saucers, and much more
