It provides state of art laboratory facilities to enable practically undertake oceanography related activities in the campus. A good library is pertinent to supporting a knowledge-based educational institution, giving the Dire ct ions access to a large number of resources in the discipline. For comping the purpose of living, there are both boys’ and girls’ hostels, so students staying there can comfortably live. The department is also privileged to use other facilities at Cochin University of Science and Technology has the sporting complex, an auditorium for functions and seminars, canteen. First-aid techniques are offered at a health centre available so that students and staff can stay healthy. Through its IT system, the Department provides for contemporary research and learning techniques ensuring that the students are aware of current uses of technology in oceanography.

The M.Tech in Ocean Technology programme duration is two years and has an intake of 12 students; the M.Sc in Oceanography a two-year full-time programme has an annual intake of 15 students.
