Christian College, Kattakada, founded in 1965, is a premier institution of higher education in Thiruvananthapuram. This affiliated college is situated in a large 23-acre campus and has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Christian College is well built with every facility within and outside class that is believed to have a bearing on the learning process. The library is the central library of the university encompassing about 26000 books and the university adds about 350 new books every year. Besides, students can use an efficiently equipped main Computer Lab stocked with brand new, fast, broadband connections, computers in some departments. To improve more of the infrastructures that the college has for the sporting activities, there is a 200 meters of a track, a football pitch, centres for basketball, among others. The college auditorium have a sitting capacity of 1,800 people and is used for all the cultural and academic activities in the college. Besides, there is a well-equipped gym, a cafeteria, discipline wise separate labs, Biotechnology Laboratory with tissue culture unit.

The college has two buses at present, maintained by the PTA. One bus runs between Kanjiramkulan and Kattakada, and the other bus runs between Vellarada and Kattakada. The Forestry club functions in the College with the assistance of the Forest Department of the State Government. The main objectives of the forestry club include providing a forum for sensitizing and creating awareness about the importance of conservation, igniting the flame of adventure and conservation in young minds, to creating a young generation of ecological stewards. The Environment Club plays a pivotal role in creating awareness among students about biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues and in generating a clean and green consciousness through various innovative methods. The students are always encouraged to keep their surroundings green and clean and to plant trees. It helps to inculcate the culture of water conservation by minimizing the use of water and maintaining cleanliness in and around the campus.
