CIPET Kochi is affiliated to the All India Council for Technological Education otherwise known as AICTE, thus observing national standards of education. The institute is currently offers two diploma programmes and the number of students enrolment per programme is one hundred and twenty, hence the philosophy of creating skilled professional of the plastics industry. Presently the faculty of CIPET Kochi is very limited because the college is newly established and it has only 8 members in faculties. CIPET Kochi also inspired and equipped with a lot modern amenities that aims to improve the learning abilities of the students. The institute has well-equipped labs for Synthesis and Testings, Characterisation and Mechanical works. These are helpful labs used to train students and introduce to procedures such as MI, HDT and VSP testers used in rep firms. The library of CIPET Kochi is a store house of knowledge equipped with RFID; this library has around one thousand volumes of books and journals related to the field of plastics engineering. Moreover, the digital library gives students all sorts of resources to carry out their research and help them with independent learning needs.
The institute offers two full-time diploma programmes: This course comprises of the following; Diploma in Plastic Technology and Diploma in Plastic Mould Technology. These two programmes take three years and were designed to deliver broad knowledge and skill in their specialties. The intake capacity of each course has been approved to 120 students and the total number of seats for the two programmes is 240. These diplomas correspond with the increasing need for qualified personnel in the sphere of plastic production and addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of it.
