AE Kalsekar Degree College, Thane

AE Kalsekar Degree College was established in 2001 and it is an affiliated college located in Thane of the state Maharashtra. Located near Bharat Gear Factory in Kausa-Mumbra, the institution had been serving the needs of the educated community for over the past two decades. The campus of the college is vast, measuring 1.0076 acres of land, and it incorporates you with more undergraduate and postgraduate programs. With a total student intake of 1,937 and a faculty strength of 58, AE Kalsekar Degree College provides an ambience conducive for learning for its students. The college gained its accreditation from NAAC, which speaks volumes about the endeavour of the institution to uphold high standards in education. 

AE Kalsekar Degree College abounds with amenities that serve to enhance the learning experience of its students. To say the truth, the library is the lifeline of the institution, being well equipped with a voluminous collection of quite a good number of books, newspapers, magazines, and research journals. There are also 12 various newspapers, 51 magazines, and several research periodicals for the students to read. Resource sharing services, such as with an interlibrary loan system available in almost all other libraries around the area, put the library’s participation in perspective. The college is having well-equipped laboratories for science and technology students that count science laboratory and computer laboratory with more than 60 computers. 

The campus includes a large auditorium to arrange any event or function. It offers a great platform to the students in which they can present their talents in front of everyone with different activities. It has a cafeteria that provides hygienic and tasty food to the students and staff, thus taking care of their dietary needs. Also, the college has first-aid facilities with a few medicines, one wheelchair, and an emergency bed. It also takes special efforts to promote participation by students in intercollegiate and collegiate activities and competitions and excursions-industrial visits along the celebration of different days and events, which impart value addition to the academic activities of the college alongside entertainment. It also has an active Training and Placement Cell as part of the college to assist students in their career endeavours. 

AE Kalsekar Degree College offers a total of 9 courses through 5 programmes, which help students meet their varied interests. All courses by the institution are on full-time basis including undergraduate and postgraduate courses. There are bachelor’s programmes like BA, B.Sc, and B.Com, traditional ones in nature, along with some new-generation courses such as BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies), B.Sc in Information Technology, B.Com in Banking and Insurance, B.Com in Accounting and Finance, and M.Com in Advanced Accountancy and Business Management. All these courses are oriented to provide students with working knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the present competitive job market.
