The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important advisory for parents of students in Classes IX, X, XI, and XII. It highlights the urgent need to submit accurate personal details and subject choices during registration and the List of Candidates (LOC) process for the 2025–26 academic year.

Critical Dates and Process Overview

CBSE has fixed a strict schedule to ensure smooth registration and examination:

Process Without Late Fee With Late Fee
Submission of LOC (Classes X & XII) August 29 to September 30, 2025 October 3 to October 11, 2025
Registration of Students (Classes IX & XI) September 16 to October 16, 2025 October 17 to October 31, 2025

After these stages, CBSE will issue a data verification slip. Parents and students can correct errors from October 13 to 27 for LOC and from November 14 to 28 for registration. However, corrections will not be allowed after these windows, especially for Classes X and XII.

Why Accurate Data Submission Matters

Submitting correct details is vital because it:

  • Ensures accurate admit cards and mark sheets.

  • Prevents errors that may block exam eligibility or delay certification.

  • Guarantees students receive the right question papers.

Moreover, parents should write full names instead of abbreviations, confirm surnames (important for overseas education), and match the date of birth with official records like passports.

Consequences of Incorrect Data

In recent years, CBSE noticed several cases where parents submitted wrong details. As a result, schools had to request corrections after exams, which created delays and disruptions. Furthermore, the Board will not allow subject changes after the LOC deadline. Therefore, parents must verify every entry before final submission.

CBSE’s Appeal to Parents

The Board strongly urges parents to cooperate with schools for timely and accurate submissions. It also makes clear that CBSE will not extend deadlines under any circumstances. Ultimately, parents and guardians carry the responsibility to provide correct information.

Official Statement

Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, advised parents to treat this task as a top priority. He emphasized that accurate data ensures a smooth and fair examination process. In addition, CBSE directed regional offices and affiliated schools to spread this message widely.

Final Advice for Parents

To stay informed, parents should regularly check CBSE circulars and school notices. By following the timeline and verifying details carefully, they can help their children avoid administrative hurdles and focus fully on academics.
