New Delhi, August 12, 2025 – The MAMC mandatory service bond policy will now require all medical students at Maulana Azad Medical College to commit to one year of service in Delhi government healthcare facilities after completing their course. This ₹15–20 lakh MAMC mandatory service bond aims to retain skilled doctors in the public health system and ensure medical expertise benefits local communities. While the initiative promises stronger public healthcare support, students must weigh its financial and career implications before admission.

Key Bond Requirements

  • Who: All UG and PG students (including super-specialty) admitted from 2025-26
  • Bond Amount:
  • UG Students: ₹15 lakh
  • PG/Super-specialty Students: ₹20 lakh
  • Service Period: One year in Delhi government healthcare facilities after course completion
  • Deadline: Students must submit an undertaking at admission (by August 9, 2025)

Implementation Timeline

  • UG Students: Sign the final bond during internship in 2030
  • PG Students: Sign the final bond during the course in 2028

Consequences for Non-Compliance

Students who skip the mandatory service forfeit their bond amount. They must pay the full ₹15 lakh (UG) or ₹20 lakh (PG) to the government.

Student Options

Students face two choices:

  • Provide a bank guarantee for the bond amount during internship
  • Submit original academic documents to the college until service completion

Official Statement

The circular states: “This policy follows Delhi government orders. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor approved it. The bond ensures medical graduates serve where needed.”

Undertaking Details

Admitted students must immediately confirm acceptance in writing. The undertaking acknowledges:

  • Understanding the service requirement
  • Awareness of financial penalties for non-compliance
  • Agreement to sign the formal bond later

The policy aims to retain medical talent in Delhi’s public healthcare system. Students planning private practice or jobs outside Delhi must carefully consider the financial implications before admission.
