SD Polytechnic has been affiliated with the state of Uttar Pradesh, India, with approval being given by the All India Council for Technical Education. The college conducts several diploma engineering programmes and is known among students for providing good quality technical education. SD Polytechnic follows a pretty simple and straightforward mechanism for getting admission. For admission to the various Diploma courses, applicants must meet qualification criteria stated by the educational performance of the applicants in the qualifying examination as per the regulations laid down by the relevant statutory authority.

The institute is expected to run through the academic calendar of the university to which it is affiliated or of the state technical education board.
