CBSE Issues Critical Awareness Notice on Correct Submission of Student Data in List of Candidates (LOC) for Class X and XII Board Exams 2025-26

A cheerful school-themed illustration features a large wooden board at the center displaying the text: "CBSE Issues Critical Awareness Notice on Correct Submission of Student Data in List of Candidates (LOC) for Class X and XII Board Exams 2025-26." Pencils of various colors border the bottom, a pink paper plane appears on the left, and faint images of students are in the background. The Career Plan B logo is on the top left and the green CBSE emblem is on the top right, emphasizing official and educational context.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important circular urging schools to complete the List of Candidates (LOC) for Class X (First Examination) and Class XII (Main Examination) for the 2025–26 session. This step is vital because it ensures a smooth examination process and prevents last-minute issues that could affect student eligibility or certification.

Importance of Accurate Data Submission

The LOC is a mandatory step where schools upload details of students appearing for the board exams. To avoid complications, CBSE advises schools to:

  • Enter student names along with parents’ or guardians’ names exactly as recorded in admission registers.

  • Match the date of birth with official school records.

  • Ensure subject combinations follow the CBSE scheme of studies and use the correct subject codes.

  • Update information for children with special needs (CWSN) on the CWSN portal so that concessions and facilities are provided on time.

Moreover, CBSE highlights that early verification of entries will save schools from unnecessary corrections later.

Key Subject Codes to Verify

  • Class X: Hindi A–002, Hindi B–085, Urdu A–003, Urdu B–303, Mathematics Standard–041, Mathematics Basic–241.

  • Class XII: Hindi Core–302, Hindi Elective–002, English Core–301, English Elective–001, Sanskrit Core–322, Sanskrit Elective–022, Urdu Core–303, Mathematics–041, among others.

Therefore, schools should double-check that these subject codes are reported accurately.

Correction Window and Data Verification

In addition, CBSE has created a correction facility so that schools can fix errors before deadlines. The rules are as follows:

  • Schools may make corrections before the final LOC submission date without any penalties.

  • After submission and fee payment, schools can still edit entries by paying additional charges if necessary.

  • Once entries are uploaded, schools must generate a verification slip for each candidate. If they find errors, corrections can be made during the secondary window, October 13 to October 27, 2025.

  • However, no corrections will be accepted after October 27, 2025.

Consequently, schools must review student data carefully and use the verification slip to cross-check details.

Submission Deadlines

  • Without late fee: September 30, 2025.

  • With late fee: October 11, 2025.

  • For challan payments: September 22, 2025 (without late fee).

Thus, schools that miss the early deadlines will need to pay additional charges.

Why This Matters

Incorrect or delayed LOC submissions can prevent students from appearing in exams or cause delays in marksheets and certificates. For this reason, CBSE has reminded schools to verify and submit data well in advance.

Overall, the circular underlines the need for accuracy, timeliness, and proper verification so that board exams run smoothly for millions of students. Schools must, therefore, treat LOC submission as a top priority to safeguard students’ academic futures.
